“皮五辣子”是一个在江淮地区家喻户晓的传奇市井人物，姊妹最早来源于乾隆时期扬州评话的传统书目《清风闸》。平民传奇大戏《皮五传奇》将以类似戏说的方式讲述了社会底层的人民同贪官恶绅斗争的故事。本剧的主人公“皮五”呈现出的将是一个机智、姊妹幽默、知善能改、嫉恶如仇的“民间智者”形象。
