影片讲述了在北京打工的王杰和斯斯蜗居地下室时发生的浪漫爱情故事。王杰和斯斯租住在同一个地下室，羽咲两个人互有好感。一次在超市的偶遇，羽咲王杰见斯斯买了很多物品，便主动上前帮忙。从那之后，两个人便有了交往。在此期间，斯斯被老板王总骚扰，王杰被前女友波波纠缠，让这段感情增加了许多变数，最终二人经受住了层层考验，走到了一起。剧中，王总趁机强暴斯斯，王杰破门解围；前女友波波设计，欲夺走王杰，斯斯捍卫爱情；隔壁邻居夜伴销魂，男女主角欲火中烧等一系列的精彩事件，使这部小人物的爱情故事多了一些无奈、幽默与情趣，同时也反应了蚁族群体充满正能量的蜗居观。
