鹧鸪菜（洪金宝 饰）、幻影花旗参（秦祥林 饰）、幻影犀牛皮（冯淬帆 饰）、大生地（吴耀汉 饰）和罗汉果（曾志伟 饰）这五个好友近来倍感无聊，他们各自吹牛外出沟女，结果一无所获。无聊至极之时，五福星相约前往离岛旅游。一路上麻烦不断，几人却乐在其中。正当夜晚几人玩耍取乐时，却听到隔壁无人豪宅中传来奇怪声音。大生地和鹧鸪菜冒险前往，结果发现一男一女两鬼。次日，众人向霸王花（胡慧中 饰）报警，胡虽不相信五福星的说法，还是派出梁来娣等四位美艳女警前去侦查。他们原打算在鬼屋捉弄四位女警，结果反致梁被男鬼（陈百祥 饰）上身。男鬼生前被人残忍杀害，由此失去心爱的恋人，死后更被贪婪女鬼所困。五位好友决心帮他完成心愿……
