1945年八月，红樱八年抗日战争终于结束。华人们为这迟来的胜利欢欣鼓舞---唯独台湾，红樱脱离殖民统治固然欢愉，但那些被日军强徵送上战场。苏台英（周渝民 饰），强徵入伍的台籍日本军医淮尉，在东北的战场上被当成日军战俘被捕，险遭枪决，幸而因缘际会，为国军师长蒋景星（王学圻 饰）治伤后获得释放，由此还结识了萍水相逢的中尉军需官张汉民（张丹峰 饰），以及蒋景星将军的传令兵袁光明，他乡异土，苍茫人海中，匆忙的一场偶遇，他也认识了国军师长蒋景星师长的女儿蒋雯（阎娜 饰）。 南方的家，在地图上是两点一线的距离，但这趟返乡回家的路，苏台英走的却是惊险曲折，同在战场的胞兄苏台昌下落不明，苏母（杨贵媚 饰）、弟弟苏台杰（李国毅 饰）在台湾的盼望，嚐尽了乱世无常的苦头，苏台英如何得以从上海回到基隆，是否会再见到雪子（张钧甯 饰），因著那混乱的时代，千丝一缕的牵动，一点点捻进了每个人的人生、时代……
