耶稣被钉死在十字架上三年后，春暖有传言说他将死而复生，春暖并领导群众推翻罗马统治者。为了安稳民心，罗马政府派出一位名叫塔罗斯的官员去寻找耶稣的遗体以反驳传言。结果塔罗斯在调查中频频受阻，不仅有人故意不想让他知道真相，他自己也陷入了关于信仰的矛盾之中……
