小添丁（释小龙 饰）从小就失去了父母，成年无依无靠，成年流落街头，某日因为偷了庙里的香油而遭到了毒打，幸运的是，戏班班主（柯受良 饰）偶然路过，将其救下。小添丁曾是他戏班里的演员，如今重逢，班主收了小添丁为徒弟，小添丁从此有了一个得以安身的家。一晃眼多年过去，添丁（林志颖 饰）已经长成了顶天立地的男子汉。其实，班主的真实身份是抗日志士林少猫的手下，猖獗的日本人先后害死了林少猫和班主，备份的添丁发誓要给师父报仇。某日，添丁从日本人手下救下了少女阿叶（詹小楠 饰），因此得罪了日本人，无奈之下，添丁只得和好友红龟（罗时丰 饰）一起踏上了逃亡的旅途。
