The film starts with verse 67, “O somma luce…” and continues to the end. “O Somma luce” recalls the first words uttered by Empedocles in Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub’s 1987 The Death of Empedocles—“O himmlisch Licht!…” (O heavenly light!). This extract from Hölderlin’s text is also inserted into their 1989 film Cézanne.“O somma luce” invokes utopia, or better still “u-topos,” Dante, Holderlin, Cézanne… the camera movement, recalling Sisyphus, in the film’s long shots, suggests its difficulty.In O somma luce, with Giorgio Passerone’s Dante and the verse that concluded the Divine Comedy, we find at the extremity of its possibilities, the almost happy speech of a man who has just left earthly paradise, who tries to fully realize the potential of his nature. Between the two we find the story of the world. The first Jean-Marie Straub film shot in HD.So singular are the textual working methods of Straub-Huillet, and now Straub on his own, that it is hard to grasp how far reaching they are. Direction is a matter of words and speech, not emotions and action. Nothing happens at the edges, everything is at the core and shines from there alone.During the rehearsals we sense a slow process by which ingredients (a text, actors, an intuition) progress towards cohesiveness. It is, forgive the comparison, like the kneading of dough. It is the assembling and working of something until it becomes something else… and, in this case, starts to shine. Actually it’s very simple, it’s just a question of opening up to the light material that has been sealed up. Here, the process of kneading is to bring to life and then reveal. The material that is worked on is speech. 回复 :本片為華南影帝張瑛與梁天合作的清末喜劇,二人在片中分別飾演「刁師爺」荒唐鏡及「足智多謀奇人」陳夢吉,角色既鬥智力亦鬥演技,拼擦出火花。故事描述足智多謀的陳夢吉,為打聽師妹下落,連同僕人來到順德。後得知當地有名「刁師爺」荒唐鏡,刻薄成性,遂扮成僕人應聘且提出三項條件,荒不虞有詐。誰料往往被陳抓到痛處,一連串「鬥智鬥力」的腦筋比拼隨即展開。
回复 :《东京流浪者》(Tokyo Drifter)拍摄于1966年,第二年,铃木清顺就被日活以“令人看不懂”为由炒了鱿鱼。其实,《东京流浪者》比铃木的前作都规矩多了,应该是缘于电影肉食者们重压之下的收敛。但影片中铃木所坚守的特色并没有改变,他依然打造出了一个光影怪异悬念迭起的黑帮世界。于简单剧情间的张弛有度收放自如,更使人得见了导演的功力。影片的娱乐元素用到极致:俊男美女,激烈枪战,四季风光,流行歌曲……,铃木没有表现出艺术片导演与生俱来的清高姿态,相反他娱乐为首的宗旨却从未被丢弃,只是前提他必须以自己的方式讲述。
