一场突如其来的车祸让名叫萨曼莎（珍妮弗·艾斯波西多 Jennifer Esposito 饰）的女子陷入了长达八天之久的昏迷之中，年代当她醒来之时，年代脑海中混沌的画面让她意识到自己失忆了。根据医生的诊断，萨曼莎所患上的是“逆行性遗忘症”，这也就意味着，那些曾经生命里最熟悉的人和最难忘的事对于现在的萨曼莎来说一律不复存在了。在母亲瑞加纳（珍·斯马特 Jean Smart 饰）和朋友们的帮助下，萨曼莎开始了寻找记忆的旅途，可是，随着时间的推移，沙曼莎发现，曾经的自己竟然是一个性格蛮横、独断专行的讨厌鬼。事实的真相使萨曼莎大受打击，她是否能够利用这次记忆的失而复得来修复诸多她曾经中伤过的感情呢？
